Lake and Geauga Counties Secondary Art Awards
(LGCSAA) were presented on "Oscar Night" this year!
Award winners were honored at The Gallery at Lakeland Community College for The Annual Lake County and Geauga County Juried Junior and Senior High School Art Show (Lake and Geauga Secondary Art Awards - LGCSAA)
The show runs from January 27 - February 24, 2013
Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony: Sunday, February 24, in The Gallery at Lakeland.
Awards Ceremony begins promptly at 12 Noon with reception to follow.

Gallery Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-9pm; Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm
Gallery exhibitions are free and open to the public.

About 400 works of art were selected from approximately 600 entries by young artists from 20 high school and middle schools in Lake and Geauga Counties. Categories represented include photography, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, painting, printmaking, drawing and mixed media. Local art teachers, including teachers from MHS, Memorial, Ridge and Shore, volunteer their time and effort to run the show. Judges for this show are local artists and/or former art educators from the area. Artwork is judged using the following awards: Honorable Mention, Gold Seal, Blue Ribbon, Scholarship/Cash Award. Artwork by students Isaiah Gullick, Alyssa Klatt, and Maisaa Kawkabani  are featured on this year's poster.

Mentor Channel just completed a video segment on the show and is currently running on Channel 12 (time warner) and Channel 99 (at&t uverse) for the next couple of weeks in a program called Around Town.  The program will also be posted on the website.... thementorchannel.com in our Video on Demand section
