2018-19 We Care Registration
 
The annual We Care registration is now available through the Parent Portal with the initial student enrollment or the annual update. 
 
Families are required to pay the registration fee ($25/ child; maximum $50/ family) AND purchase the first 25 hours ($100) per child at the time of registration. Payment can be made by credit card through the Parent Portal, or checks/ cash can be paid directly to the school.

Mentor Schools We Care Program

The We Care Program provides before and after school care for Mentor Schools students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The program includes snack (afternoon only), homework/ quiet time, active play, crafts, and individual/ group games. 

We Care operates only on days that school is in session. Please click on each school (at the top left on a PC or tap the top "main menu" on a mobile device) for hours of operation. Students are not required to have set schedules. Families can use the program as little or as much as needed as long as a positive balance is maintained in the account.

In the morning, students must be escorted in the building by an adult.  In the afternoon, students may only arrive directly from their classroom at dismissal or from an activity/ club held at the school building. Students can only be released to individuals listed in the Parent Portal with proper ID. For the safety of our students, we are unable to accept phone calls requesting any changes to the authorized pick up list.

Tuition & Payment Information

We Care is a prepaid, self-supporting program.  Our only funds for staffing, snacks, art/ craft materials, games, sports equipment, etc. come exclusively from the annual registration fee and hourly tuition that we charge.

Registration Fee: There is an annual $25.00 non-refundable registration fee per child with an annual maximum of $50.00 per family. 

Hourly Tuition: Families are charged a rate of $4.00/ hour for each child in the program. There is a minimum charge of one hour ($4.00) per shift (morning and afternoon), and then additional time is charged in quarter hour increments.

Children picked up after 6:00pm will be charged an additional late pickup fee of $8.00 per quarter hour.

Families are required to purchase 25 hours of care ($100) per child at a time. It is the responsibility of the parent/ guardian to ensure that there is a positive balance in the student’s account to continue We Care Services.  Balances can be monitored on the Parent Portal or checked at the We Care Center.  

There are three ways to pay:
1. Credit Card (Parent Portal- Payments- Select desired payment amount in "optional items")
2. Checks made payable to: Mentor Board of Education (no postdated checks)
3. Cash
 
The Mentor Schools We Care program does not meet the eligibility requirements to accept Lake County child care assistance at this time.  For information on child care assistance and to locate participating providers, please contact the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Registration Information

We Care has open enrollment throughout the school year. Students must be registered annually for each school year.

At the beginning of the year, registration is completed through the Parent Portal with the initial student enrollment or the annual update.  To enroll in the middle of the school year, please contact your center supervisor.

Families are required to pay the registration fee ($25/ child; $50/ family) AND purchase the first 25 hours ($100)* per child at the time of registration.

To request special accommodations for your child(ren) in We Care, please contact the We Care office at least ten business days before the anticipated start date.

If your child needs access to an inhaler, EpiPen, or medication during We Care hours, please complete the appropriate form below and supply the medication to your We Care Supervisor (if applicable).

*If your child has a significant We Care carryover balance from the previous year, then only the registration fee is required at the time of registration.

Students returning to the district must complete registration through the Parent Portal Annual Update.
(Required for all medications including Epinephrine Auto-injectors and Inhalers)
