Ridge Families:

Over the last several weeks, Ridge students have excelled in and out of of the classroom.  Our Ridge thespians put on a stellar performance in “It was a Dark and Stormy Night” under the direction of Ms. Martony.  The production showcased the vast talents of our student body. It was evident from the laughter that the audience members enjoyed the show.

The Ridge robotics teams battled at the third annual Middle School Robotics competition located at Lakeland Community College.  The robotics club provides middle school students an opportunity to learn about the exciting world of robots. Under the guidance of Mr. McGrath, the Ridge competitors design, build, and operate remote-controlled armed machines designed to fight in an arena tournament. This day long event highlighted numerous teams from local Lake and Geauga middle and high schools.

Our eighth grade students were able to attend a Watch Party at the Q due to the generosity of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs came to the rescue, providing over 600 Mentor 8th grade students, tickets to view the game, chartered buses, t-shirts, and food vouchers to help soften the pain of having the 8th Washington DC grade trip unexpectedly cancelled. Our 8th graders were recently informed they will have the opportunity to travel to Cedar Point on May 17th and visit local attractions throughout Cleveland on May 18th. The outpouring of support from local businesses and community members is heart-warming.

On Thursday, Ridge hosted the final National Junior Honor Society induction.  This event highlights the essential qualities of Ridge Pride: Scholarship, Service/Citizenship, Character, and  Leadership. Our National Junior Honor Society members exemplify these characteristics by working hard within the educational environment but also in the community. Congratulations to our new inductees.

iPad collection will occur on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.   During this process, students will need to turn in their device, charger, and power cord.  Any iPad returned that is damaged and/or without the original charging cord will be assessed a fee.

Have a wonderful weekend.
