Dear Mentor Schools families,
It is with mixed emotions that I write this email to you today to share that I have accepted the position of Superintendent with Lakota Local Schools, near Cincinnati. This was a difficult decision for me to make as Mentor has been a wonderful home for my family over the last five years. But, this is an opportunity I feel I need to take both personally and professionally.
I feel so very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work in this outstanding community with your support during my time with Mentor Schools. Our district has grown so much over these years-- thanks to the hard work and dedication of our staff each and every day. Together, we have always put our students first and have been able to provide a well-rounded, high-quality education for them with your support.
My time with Mentor Schools has no doubt been the most rewarding of my career, and I am beyond proud to call myself a Cardinal and my children Mentor High School alumni - Once a Cardinal, Always a Cardinal. I will continue working hard as your community’s superintendent until my very last day, which will be in mid-June.
I am confident our Board of Education will find a great replacement for the role of superintendent who will continue to put our students first and provide a safe learning environment where they can grow academically, socially and emotionally.
With deep gratitude,Matt Miller
