Do you need extra time to work on ALEKS? Would you like help with your Thought Question for Achieve? Study Tables is a great place to get caught up on classwork, or get help with assignments! Come to the media center on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8-8:35 AM. See Miss Elliott if you have any questions!

 

Ridge Planners:

With a new semester upon us, remember, there are still Ridge planners available for sale in the main office.  The planners are a great way to stay organized and plan for upcoming assignments and assessments.  Planners can be purchased for $3.50

 

ANNUAL 8TH GRADE VISIT TO HIGH SCHOOL

The second annual 8th Grade Orientation Tour to the High School is scheduled for March 22nd.  More information will be forthcoming.   

 

Spirit Wear

Anyone that missed the December spirit wear deadline that would still like to place an order can do so on the website https://mentor-ridge-pta.myshopify.com/ or by filling out a form and sending in a check. If you place an order on the website, please include the Student Name and Advisory Teacher in the Company Name Field. All online orders will close on 1/19/18 and be delivered by the end of Jan to advisory classrooms.

8TH GRADE WASHINGTON DC TRIP PAYMENT REMINDER -- Use school trip code JILVI

PENNIES FOR PATIENTS COLLECTION

Bring in any coins in the morning and place them in your advisory bin.  The advisory that brings in the most change will win a Pizza Lunch!  If we raise at least $500 as a school, winning advisory will win an Olive Garden lunch.  All donations will benefit the Lymphoma & Leukemia Foundation.

 

Ridge Theatre

Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays/Thursdays (until further notice) starting on January 9 in the Media Center. Rehearsal will end PROMPTLY at 5:00 pm. Scripts will be distributed at the first rehearsal. Please check our Schoology group frequently for Theatre news and updates.

It is not too late to join Ridge’s Power of the Pen team! Anyone in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade are welcome! Come share your creativity and love of writing and books with us! We meet on Thursdays after school from 3:45-4:45 in room 142. See Ms.Deas if you have more questions!



Movie Makers Club!

Movie Makers Club will meet NEXT Tuesday, January 16th.   Bring your creative ideas...clay will be provided for stop motion claymation!

Please gather in the Media Center until Ms. Bond arrives from Memorial.  Feel free to bring a snack!  We will be meeting until 3:45 and will begin working with animation!



PTA Reflections Winner

Congratulations to Sidney Kramer!  Her artwork has been selected to compete at the STATE level for the PTA Reflections art contest!  Way to go Sidney!




Leadership Lake County

Youth Leadership Academy Class of 2019-now open to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students!

 

The Leadership Lake County Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) is a bi-monthly program for sixth, seventh, and eighth, grade students to learn the basics of goal setting, communication, time management and community service skills. It is a unique opportunity designed to guide students to reach his or her full potential.

 

The Youth Leadership Leadership Academy focuses on skill development as it relates to:

 

  • Leadership

  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving

  • Goal Setting

  • Working with Others

  • Communication Skills

  • Service in the Community

We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up Ridge Middle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket! When you make Coca-Cola product purchases, you simply enter the product codes here: Coca-Cola Give Program Link  

 

Product codes can be found printed on the inside of most bottle caps and also on the cartons of multi-pack beverages.  Ridge will receive a donation from each Coca-Cola product based on the code values shown in the graphic below.
