In this edition of Financial Facts we would like to share details of a new revenue source for Mentor Public Schools. Ohio’s Casino Tax generated $166,816 for our district in its first year, 2012-2013. This year, our district has received $404,064 in Casino Tax revenue.
The Board of Education and Superintendent have earmarked this money to be spent on instructional technology. Instructional technology is an important component in ensuring our district is able to meet the instructional needs of all learners while preparing them for the 21st century and beyond.
You can learn more about how instructional technology is being used in our award-winning blended learning programs by watching the Superintendent’s State of the Schools presentation, which is available on the front page of our website.
Thank you for your continued support of Mentor Public Schools. Remember, you can read about Mentor Public Schools’ finances by visiting the Chief Financial Officer’s section of the website, anytime.
