About Blizzard Bag: In a law passed several years ago, school districts were given the option to participate in ODE’s Blizzard Bag program as a way to avoid opening schools for makeup days at the end of the school year or other pre-planned off days. Mentor Schools chose to participate for academic and financial reasons. Our Blizzard Bag consists of sets of assignments developed by our teachers and approved by the Board of Education for each grade level. Blizzard Bag work can be assigned for up to three additional calamity days (or day 6, 7 and 8).

UPDATE:
Mentor Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday January 29 due to the wind chill warning in effect through the morning hours.

As you know, this marks the district’s seventh calamity day so far this school year. Makeup-action is required in the form of DAY 7 Blizzard Bag assignments. Please follow this link to access those assignments: http://www.mentorschools.net/CalamityDayMakeupLessons.aspx

Remember, your children now need to complete DAY 6 & 7 work. A student should complete the work he/she would be missing on the day of the week the calamity day occurs-- in this instance, Wednesday. So if your child has Art on Wednesdays, he or she should complete the Art Day 7 lesson along with math, science, reading etc.
