October 9, 2013 -- The Mentor Board of Education unanimously appointed three new members to its Citizens Financial Advisory Committee (CFAC) at last night’s regularly scheduled October meeting. The three new members are Michelle Kaplan, Eryn Medved, and Bernie Rykaczewski. Their terms begin immediately and run through December 2015.
The CFAC was formed by the Board of Education ten years ago to review forecasting assumptions, identify best financial practices, make periodic reports to the Board of Education and to serve as the audit committee. Any resident of the school district with a strong business background was eligible for consideration.
“We were very pleased to receive a high level of interest from the community to serve on the Citizens Financial Advisory Committee,” said Board of Education President Mr. William Shaw. “In the interviews, these three candidates stood out because of their extensive business and financial experience and demonstrated commitment to community service.
