Just within the last two weeks, the district broke ground on a new $3.5 million facility, adjacent to Mentor High School. The entire project is being funded by the Straight A Grant, which means no local tax expense for our community. Part of the requirement to earn the grant was to prove the new building and programs would be sustainable among our existing staffing and permanent improvement plans.
The new facility, called Paradigm, is a 16,000-square-foot professional development center. Paradigm will offer state-of-the-art instructional technology materials and collaborative spaces our teachers can use to develop and implement engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
Construction of Paradigm is scheduled to finish by July 31, 2015. Once complete, the facility will be available for use by other educational entities from around the region and community members through our facilities rental program.
Thank you for your continued support of Mentor Public Schools.
