Applicants sought for Mentor Public Library Board of Trustees
December 18, 2017:  The Mentor Board of Education is seeking applicants for two Mentor Library Board of Trustees positions. The first trustee position will be for a full seven-year term beginning in January 2018 and ending December 31, 2024. The second trustee position is to fill the remaining term due to a resignation, which will end December 31, 2019.  Each term will begin for the new trustees upon appointment.
In Ohio, local boards of education have appointing authority for public library trustees. Applicants should submit a letter of interest including:
•      Place of residence
•      Length of time residing at current address
•      Reason for interest in serving on the library board
•      Community involvement and service experience
•      Names and contact information for up to three individuals who may serve as references
The deadline for applications is January 19, 2018.  The applications will be reviewed by two school board members, one library trustee, the superintendent and chief financial officer of Mentor Public Schools.  This committee will recommend two individuals to the board of education for appointment The board will appoint a trustee no later than February 9, 2018.
