Announcement Regarding Mentor High School

Dear Mentor High School parents, guardians, and students:

I hope this email finds you well and enjoying summertime. I am writing this evening to share some important information regarding Mentor High School with you. Our principal, Mr. William Wade, has been offered and has accepted the position of superintendent for Kirtland Local Schools, pending official board approval.

Mr. Wade has been a valuable member of our team since his arrival in the district in 2011 and has guided Mentor High School through major instructional changes over the last several years. His leadership and work with our faculty has been key to implementing these changes successfully to benefit all of our students.

I hope you will join me in congratulating Mr. Wade for earning this new opportunity. Mentor Schools will continue to work with Mr. Wade collaboratively, as Kirtland Schools is our partner in Straight A Fund grant initiatives.

We will be posting the Mentor High School principal position this evening. I am confident we will find a highly qualified educator and experienced leader who will be a perfect fit for the Mentor Schools team. We will work diligently to ensure we find the right candidate who will uphold our goal of providing a safe learning environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

We wish Mr. Wade the best and thank all of you for your continued support of Mentor Schools.

Matthew J. Miller

Good afternoon,

As you know from Mr. Miller’s email, I have accepted the position as superintendent at Kirtland Schools for the 16-17 school year. I want to take a moment to thank you -- the Mentor High School students, parents and community-- for all of your support over the last five years. My time at Mentor High School has been the best of my professional career and I will always look fondly on my time as building principal and the opportunities to work with our students, staff and families. It truly has been a pleasure to serve as your principal and have the opportunity to be one of the leaders of such an amazing school and student body. All of you as students and parents have helped shape me into a better leader and person; it is my hope that I have had at least a fraction of the impact on your lives as you have had on mine.

I wish all the Mentor High School community continued success and look forward to seeing all the great things that you are sure to accomplish in the future.

Bill Wade
