NJHS applications will be available beginning Monday, April 9th for any interested current 6th or 7th graders. They will be available in the main office or from Mrs. Dwyer or Mrs. McKenrick. Applications are due by 3:40 on Friday, April 20th. They may be turned in to the main office or Mrs. Dwyer or Mrs. McKenrick anytime prior to the due date, as well. Induction into Ridge’s NJHS will automatically secure your position into NJHS for Shore or Memorial next year. Any current 7th graders who wish to be in NJHS next year must reapply.
“Kiss Me, I’m Irish” Hershey Kiss CandyGrams
NJHS will be selling CandyGrams before school, in the cafeteria, from 8:10-8:30, Wednesday, March 7th - Wednesday, March 14th. CandyGrams will be delivered in Advisory on Friday, March 16th. Spread a little Luck of the Irish this St. Patrick’s Day and send a CandyGram!
Design Challenge Advisory Winners
Adkins Advisory designed and built a “Space Lander” which could be dropped from 84 inches without the “astronauts” falling out. The winning team members were: Gianna Cesari, Angelina Alberti, Dustyn Alan, Kaitlyn Crespo. Nice Work!
8th Grade Make a Difference Day
In conjunction with our “One Grade One Book” program for our 8th graders, Ridge will be participating in “Make a Difference Day”. On March 27th, our 8th grade students will travel to various locations in Lake County to give back, volunteer, and make a difference in our community. Students will have a meeting on Tuesday, March 13th during Advisory in the cafeteria for further details. Students will be given permission slips at the meeting which are due to the main office by: Wednesday, March 21st. All students will be asked to pack a lunch for the field trip.
In support of the local organizations, our 8th grade students will be be asked to collect several items that will be used: Donations can be dropped off in the main office or in Advisory rooms.

Crossroads PSA Event April 2018
Calling all 6th-12th graders in Lake County! Crossroads is sponsoring a Public Service Announcement (PSA) Contest! Please see the attachments below for a copy of the Video Public Service Announcement (PSA) flyer and registration & guidelines sheet. This event is open to all 6th-12th grade Lake County students interested in submitting a Video PSA on one of the topics listed. Students may submit as an individual or in a group. The deadline for video submissions is April 3, 2018 and the event will be held on April 24th, 2018 at Atlas Theater Great Lakes Stadium 16 where all submissions will be screened. The free community event will have raffle baskets, a photo booth, vouchers for concessions and show a featured film after the PSAs. MENTOR BASEBALL LEAGUE

7th Grade Trip to Cedar Point
Date: This year's 7th grade trip to Cedar Point is on Friday, May 18th. Dress for the weather; students will go, rain or shine!
Permission Slips: Permission slips should be returned to the main office. Permission slips can be found in the main office or on the Ridge website.
Food: Food is NOT covered in the cost. Students will be responsible for their own food.
Cost: The cost is $57 ($39 for the ticket - season passes are accepted and $18 for transportation). Fees have been assigned in Infinite Campus to all 7th-grade students. A limited number of economic hardship scholarships are available; contact Mrs. Blackburn for more information. (Parents, if your child has a season pass or if you decide your child will not participate, please send a note/email to Mrs. Blackburn and your fee will be removed/adjusted.)
Deadline: The deadline for payment and permission slip is March 27th -- NO EXCEPTIONS! Payments can be made online or in the main office.

Do you need extra time to work on ALEKS? Would you like help with your Thought Question for Achieve? Study Tables is a great place to get caught up on classwork, or get help with assignments! Come to the media center on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8-8:35 AM. See Miss Elliott if you have any questions!
Ridge planners available for sale in the main office. The planners are a great way to stay organized and plan for upcoming assignments and assessments. Planners can be purchased for $3.50

We are excited that Barnes & Noble at the Great Lakes Mall is hosting a week-long fundraiser to benefit the students of Mentor Schools from March 10 - March 17. Each day of the week will have fun activities for children of all ages and special themes that you can read about on our website by clicking here. High School Soccer
"Any player interested in joining the girls soccer team next year: we are having a brief informational meeting at 7pm on Thursday March 15th at 7pm. Meet the new coach in B-lec at Mentor High and find out some information about spring and summer activities as well as tryout information.

High School Cheerleading
Anyone interested in trying out for the 2018/19 MHS cheerleading squad, there is a Mandatory parent/student meeting March 7th. The meeting will be at the Paradigm starting at 7:00 PM. Parents and students must attend the meeting. If you and your parent can’t attend you must email the Coaches.
Coaches' Clinic on March 14th at 5:30- 7:30 in the Auxiliary gym. Cost is $10. You will learn what to know for tryouts and ways to improve your skills.
Tryouts will start with Clinics on March 19-21 4:30-6:30, Interviews on either March 22 or 23 and tryouts on Sunday, March 25.
Winter Athletic Awards Banquet
The Ridge Athletic Department will host its Winter Athletic Awards Banquet on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. The evening will begin in the gymnasium promptly at 6:00 p.m. After the individual awards, athletes and parents are invited to the cafeteria for refreshments and desserts provided by Ridge Athletics. This evening is a dress-up affair for our student-athletes. Boys are expected to wear dress slacks, shirt and tie. Girls are to wear dress pants or a skirt and a blouse, or a dress. Please remember that this is a school function and all attire is to be school appropriate. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you and hope you will be able to attend!

PTA Malley’s Fundraiser
PTA is sponsoring a Malley’s Fundraiser to raise funds for student/staff events and future scholarships. Order forms were distributed to students early last week.
Order forms and money are due no later than this Thursday, March 8, 2018. (extended an extra day). Please write checks to RIDGE PTA.
Paper order pick up will be after school on Monday, March 19th until 5:30pm.
Orders can also be placed online and delivered to your home (free shipping for orders $60+). Convenient option if you are unable to pick up after school.
Online orders will remain open until March 26th (11:59pm) for any last minute orders or add ons. These orders are home delivered only guaranteed by Easter, April 1st.
