Mentor Public Schools Financial Facts #13
Mentor Public Schools Financial Facts #13 You see them on the roads, pulling in and out of our schools, carrying students to and from class each day – our buses. Last year, for reference, Mentor Schools transported 6,000 students a day using 60 buses driving an average of 4,700 miles in routes daily. Those figures include special education busing needs.

Even though we operate the most efficient bus fleet in Ohio for districts operating 30 buses or more (according to the Ohio Department of Education the last seven years), our fuel cost was $524,418 for 2012-2013.

Our transportation staff continues to work diligently on efficiency, and with declining enrollment, has been able to cut another bus out of the equation for this year, even though our special education transportation needs have increased.

You can read more about our district’s finances anytime, by visiting the Chief Financial Officer’s section of Thank you for your continued support of Mentor Public Schools!

Additionally, please help us keep our students and drivers safe by following school bus traffic laws and school zone speed limits.
