Mentor Schools Kindergarten Registration for 2021-22 School Year

Kindergarten Registration for the 2021-2022 school year will begin on Monday, March 1, 2021 for children who will be five years old on or before September 30, 2021.  Please see the attached letter to parents/guardians for more information on how to register your child and what is needed to complete the registration.  

NAMI of Lake County

NAMI of Lake County (National Alliance on Mental Illness) will share a presentation via Zoom with Mentor Schools' families entitled "Ending the Silence for Families" on Monday, February 22nd and Wednesday, February 24th, 2021 both at 7:00 p.m.  Please see the links below for access to the Zoom presentation, additional information, and a program evaluation:
NAMI of Lake County (National Alliance on Mental Illness) will host a parent presentation via Zoom on Thursday, February 25th, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., entitled "Building Resilience through Shared Experiences."  Speakers will include Trish Rickard, M.Ed, and Chris Ohlemacher, M.Ed. from PEP Cleveland (Positive Education Program).  Please see the attached flyer to register.  

Lake County Department of Job and Family Services

It Takes a Village to Raise Children!  This is our Foster Care and Adoption recruitment theme for 2021 and we need your help!  This theme is more relevant now than ever before given the global pandemic facing our communities.  Lake County needs more homes to help keep children safe.  The agency has scheduled Pre-Service classes regarding foster care and adoption throughout 2021 and these dates and times are on the flyers attached.  Pre-Service classes can also be completed virtually now, too!

City of Mentor/Mentor Ice Arena

The Mentor Ice Arena, 8600 Munson Road, is hosting TRY HOCKEY FOR FREE DAY on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.  Go to to register.  MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED TO ATTEND. 


Cardinal Circles

Cardinal Circles provides Mentor Schools' families with new ways to connect with one another and engage with the district.  Centered around affirmation, collaboration, and transformation, the program offers parents and guardians a chance to come together around their shared interests and experiences and to explore unique resources and opportunities.  Cardinal Circles is another way for families to find support, build resilience, and create personal, collective, and systemic growth and change.  For more information on Cardinal Circles, please see the attached flyer. 

Easter Egg Hunt

North Mentor Centenary Church and Heroes Helping Those With Special Needs will be sponsoring a Drive-Thru Easter Egg Hunt for special needs children and their siblings.  The event will be held on Saturday, March 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  It will be held at the church located at 9290 Lakeshore Blvd and Corduroy Rd in Mentor.  This will be a contact-free drive-thru event with a visit from the Easter Bunny and gifts for the special needs children and their siblings.  To better accommodate all children's needs, registration is required for this event and is limited; registration will close on Sunday, March 21st.  Please call Alice at 440-477-5081 or email to register.
