School Bus

Childcare Provider Information:

To support families with childcare needs, parents/guardians may request an alternate bus stop for their child(ren) within their school’s attendance area.
 
Please note:  In order to honor first day of school requests, the request must be submitted by July 15th to the Transportation Dept.
 
I.  For Mentor Public Schools families:
You may use this form or the form available in the Parent Portal to request childcare transportation if your student needs to be picked up or dropped off at a location other than their home.
 
    Log in to Parent Portal: 
 
        Click on More on the right hand side
        Go down toward bottom and choose Annual Update
        Child Care provider form will be listed 
        Click Start and fill out information 
 
II.  For Parochial School families:
If your student requires pick-up or drop-off at a location other than home, please reach out to the Transportation Department to complete the necessary paperwork.

Miscellaneous:

For public daycare pick-up and drop-off, the location must be on our approved childcare facilities list. Please note that the pick-up and drop-off locations must remain consistent throughout the week.

Requests for alternate bus stops for childcare purposes must be submitted in writing at least ten (10) working days before the requested start date and will require approval from the Director of Safety and Transportation.

 

Opt-In Required for 2025-26 School Transportation for Incoming 11th and 12th Graders:

Dear Parents and Guardians of Incoming 11th and 12th Grade Students,

We are writing to inform you of an important change regarding school transportation for the 2025-2026 school year.  Students entering 11th and 12th grade will NOT be automatically routed for bus transportation for next school year If your child will require school bus service next year, you must OPT IN by completing the Annual Update in Infinite Campus by May 31st.

Action Required:

  • Log in to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

  • Complete the Annual Update and indicate your transportation needs.

  • The deadline to opt in for transportation is May 31, 2025.

Students who do not opt in by this date will not be assigned to a bus route for the upcoming school year.

Northeast Ohio Flag Football

Registration for fall 2025 will open June 1st through July7th.  The season runs from late August to early October.  All scheduled games will be played on the turf fields at Mentor High School.  Click here for more information.

Mentor Schools' Top 25 Show Choir presents The Big Show-Top 25 "Through the Decades" for two shows on May 17th at 7:00 p.m. and May 18th at 3:00 p.m. at the Mentor Schools Fine Arts Center, 6477 Center Street.  For more information, click here

Mentor Schools We Care Program

ONLINE registration for We Care 2025-2026 begins MONDAY, JUNE 2nd at 9:00 a.m.  To register your student(s), complete the following steps:

  • Go into your Parent Portal/STUDENT STORE
  • Select your child's Elementary School and click SHOP
  • You will see WE CARE PROGRAM, click PRODUCTS
  • WE CARE REGISTRATION will appear, click VIEW
  • Select your child's name
  • Add the $35 registration fee to your cart
  • Complete, sign and SUBMIT the registration form,
  • Make your payment

Once the registration has been verified by the We Care office, the $100 prepayment of hours invoice will be added to the account and must be paid promptly.  To pay the $100, go into your Parent Portal to FEES, click on the student name, put the invoice in the cart and complete the payment. All steps must be completed in order for your child to be registered for We Care.  All PAST DUE We Care invoices must be paid BEFORE a student can be registered for the new school year.

The annual registration fee this school year is $35 (maximum of $70/family).  The hourly rate for We Care is $5.00/hour - after the first hour (AM and PM are separate), the rate is prorated on the quarter hour.  Please refer to the information available through the mentorschools.net website, go to the We Care Program tab for all updated information (times, payment information, etc.) about our program.  Your child is not registered for We Care until the online registration AND all payments are received.

Do you have a child entering 7th, 8th, or 9th grade for the 2025/2026 school year? The Mentor Police Department has an exciting opportunity just for them — our Junior Police Academy!  This year, due to popular demand, we are offering two sessions to choose from:

Session 1:  June 9th-13th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Session 2:  June 16th-20th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The registration fee is $75.00

Mentor Schools Kindergarten Registration 2025-2026

Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-2026 school year will begin on Saturday, March 1, 2025 for children who will be 5 years of age on or before September 30, 2025.  Registering a Kindergarten student in the Mentor Public Schools can only be done by a custodial parent who resides within the district boundaries.  A Kindergarten student cannot be registered by a parent or other relative who does not have legal custody of theKdg Kids child.  For more information on procedures and the process of registering your Kindergarten student and links to register, click here 2025-2026 Kindergarten Registration
