Mentor Girls Softball Registration is OPEN!

Parents and players are invited to join the Mentor Girls Softball League for a FUN-FILLED summer of softball. The league offers a positive, team-focused environment where girls can learn, grow, and enjoy the game. Families are encouraged to consider volunteering as a team manager or coach, as the league depends on parent involvement to operate successfully. Volunteer support helps create a great experience for all players and keeps the program strong.

Registration deadline is March 31, 2026.

See flyer for more details and for contact information.

The Mentor Police Department's Junior Police Academy is a program designed for young individuals entering 7th, 8th, and 9th grades for the 26-27 school year, who are interested in learning about law enforcement and public safety.

Participants will receive an inside look at the life of a police officer. Cadets will attend classes on topics that include patrol procedures, traffic enforcement, K9 handling, SWAT, CPR, crime scene processing, and self defense. Classes will include lecture and hands-on experience. Cadets will also take part in physical fitness sessions which will include drill instruction (marching).

The goal of the Junior Police Academy is to foster a positive relationship between young people and law enforcement, provide valuable life skills, and potentially inspire future careers in public service while emphasizing the importance of community involvement, teamwork, and discipline.

Due to overwhelming response, the Mentor PD will host two academies. Space is limited and applicants will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

  • Session 1: June 8-12, 2026, 8:00am-3:30pm
  • Session 2: June 15-19, 2026, 8:00am-3:30pm

Cadets will be expected to take the program seriously and follow academy rules, which closely resemble school rules.
