UPDATE: Lockdown Lifted at Mentor High School
UPDATE: Lockdown Lifted at Mentor High School
1:20 p.m.: With the help of Mentor Police, we have thoroughly searched the building and have not found an emergency situation. We have received an all clear from every classroom (and all areas) in the school and have now lifted the lockdown. We will be looking into how the phone alarm was triggered. We know this was a scary situation for many students, parents, guardians and staff. School safety is our top priority and we will always take all concerns very seriously.
At this time, our students will be moving to their next classes. We have extra police presence in the building and outside of the building. We know many parents and guardians are currently outside of the building, and we will begin working on getting your students to you very shortly. Otherwise school will dismiss per usual. Thank you for your continued support.
12:55 p.m.: We are writing to inform you that Mentor High School is currently in lockdown, for an unknown reason at this time. An emergency notification alert alarm from our phone system went off in the building and we are currently searching the school with Mentor Police trying to determine where it came from. At this point, we have NOT found an emergency situation. We will send an update as soon as we know more information.
