Kindergarten Registration

2026 Kindergarten Registration Opens March 1, 2026!

Big milestones start here! Kindergarten Registration for the 2026–2027 school year opens March 1, 2026, and we can’t wait to welcome our newest learners to the Mentor Public Schools!

 

Children who will be five years old on or before August 17, 2026, are eligible to register. This age requirement follows Ohio House Bill 114, which standardized kindergarten enrollment statewide. Under this law, public schools must admit any child who turns five by the first day of instruction for the school year, ensuring consistency and clarity for families across Ohio.

Registration is completed online and requires the following documents. More information can be found below under Registration Documents Information.

  • An official birth certificate
  • Two proofs of residency
  • Parent/guardian photo ID
  • Immunization records
  • Custody paperwork (if applicable)

Families without internet access may register in person at the Administration Building. See details below about registration location and hours.

 

Existing Mentor Families registering a kindergarten student should log onto the Parent Portal and click More > Annual and Household Updates > 26-27 New Student Registration (including Preschool and Kindergarten) 


New Mentor Families registering a kindergarten student for the first time (who do not already have a student enrolled) can click on the Online Registration link here.
