About Us
Mentor Transportation is dedicated and privileged to provide the highest level of service possible to our stakeholders. We are committed to putting the safety of our students first and foremost. Mentor Public Schools' drivers are trained and certified according to state mandates. Our drivers have also passed all state and federal background checks. And the Transportation Department has been honored for the last eight years as the most efficient fleet in the state of Ohio with 50 buses or more.
Our department provides daily transportation to 11 Mentor Public Schools, 12 special needs schools/locations, 6 tech and training schools and 8 non-public schools. Our current enrollment exceeds 7,000 students, 75% of which receive transportation to and from district school buildings. Approximately 700 students are transported to other buildings outside of the district. On average, our fleet travels in excess of 979,000 miles annually. These miles include regular A.M./P.M routes, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
