Visual Arts Career Pathways

Today, students need to see a link between what they are learning and future work. Career Connections offer practical ways for teachers and school counselors, families  and community members to show students, as early as in kindergarten, the types of jobs possible for them. Watch the video above or go to the Ohio Department of Education's website here.

A Career Pathway is a collective look at education and training, wage and outlook information for related occupations. These pathways offer an overview of the various career options along with education and training that can begin as early as grade 7. Whether a student is interested in going to college, getting a certificate or working right after high school, career pathways can be customized for any ambition or plan. Go to the Ohio Department of Education's website here for more information. For additional career planning resources, visit OhioMeansJobs.com

Parents of Student Artists:
We are planning our first College and Career Fair for the Visual Arts on Feb. 6, 2023 for art students in grades 8-12 to attend during their art class that day. We also plan to hold an informational meeting for parents about various occupations in the arts industry or art related fields on a different day. College representatives will be available, as well as Mentor Schools alumni who are working in an arts related field. We are asking that you complete this short survey so that we may get a better idea how to serve you. Link to survey: https://forms.gle/ah6buuQAtZaWNVKC7

Thank you for your continued support of the Mentor Schools Art Program!
