Breakfast & Lunch Program
We are glad to have the opportunity to continue providing meals for many of our students while our school buildings are closed and instead learning is happening online at home. After monitoring the first few days of meal distribution, we’ve come up with a way to better serve you!
Starting Monday, we will move to Monday and Wednesday meal pickup from 9-11 a.m. rather than five days a week. We will still provide the same amount of food per breakfast and lunch, but we will pack more meals to be picked up at once. This will be much more convenient for families so they do not have to pick up food every day and it will be safer for our Nutrition Services personnel as well.
To finish out this week, we will continue with the already planned meal pickups for Thursday and Friday (March 26 & 27). Again, we will move to Monday and Wednesday pickup on Monday, March 30th.
Here are a few reminders as we’ve communicated previously:
Free & Reduced Lunch Program
For our families who are approved for our Free & Reduced lunch program, our Nutrition Services department will be preparing grab-and-go style breakfast and lunch meals for you. This service began today, Monday, March 23, 2020.
Families may pick up their meals on the North side of MHS (by the Fine Art Center) between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Meals may be picked up for other families who are qualified for Free & Reduced lunches. If you cannot make it, then ask a friend or neighbor to pick up for you. You will simply need to provide the qualifying child(ren)’s name(s).
It is not too late to submit an application for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. If you feel your family may now qualify, log onto the Parent Portal, click more and then meal benefits to access the application.
